NORTHWEST PADDLING FESTIVAL

I was looking for an ‘immersion suit’ for kayaking and stopped by the Northwest Paddling Festival on Lake Sammamish Friday evening.  A free event, it features a wide range of paddle boards, kayaks, and all sorts of accessories.

Paddle boards of types were there including an interesting rowing adaptation.

Pygmy was there with their beautiful stitch and glue kayaks as well as other boat manufacturers.

Like any sport, it’s not just the boats, but the gear that surrounds the sport.  Specialized PFD’s, paddles, racks, and the clubs that bring people together to enjoy the sport.

On this rack system you only need to hoist the kayak waist high, then once attached  it's easier to
get the boat on top of the car

Boeing’s BEWET (Boeing Employees Whitewater & Touring Club) was there as were other organizations centered around paddling and kayaking.

I did find my immersion suit and the 20% off sale slightly eased the pain of this sailboaters parting with yet another sizable fraction of a boat unit.

The bad news?  Today's the last day - it's open from 9 to 5 today (Saturday).  Full information here.
